FOX 22, Brewer – Local twirlers are representing the state of Maine in the 2017 Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day parade. The Maine-E-Acts baton twirling team is made up of 15 young women from around the state. They range in age from 11 to 17. On Thanksgiving Day they will be showcasing their skills for all to enjoy. The girls say they couldn’t be more thrilled. Read More

Thank you to coach Morgan, Amanda, Molly and Morgan for stopping by and showing us a thing or two about how to be a pro twirler. Turns our WE’RE not very good at it, but they sure are! However, Mac does do a surprise juggling routine near the end that’s not too shabby. Watch Video

Central Maine Girls Win National Twirling Championship

92 MOOSE, Augusta – The Main-E-Acts Baton Twirling Team just came back to Central Maine from the University of Notre Dame with some prestigious hardware, national championship trophies from the National Baton Twirling Association’s Grand National Baton Twirling Championships.

The team, which has girls from: Augusta, Bangor, Brewer, Bucksport, South Paris and West Gardiner, won national championships in two separate categories and also placed very high in several other competitions during the event. Read More

‘Main-E-Acts’ prepare for national baton twirling competition

FOX 22, Bangor – “Some people think that baton is not a sport but that is not the case at all,” said Alexandra Clowes, 17, of Brewer.

For two years, the Main-E-Acts Baton Twirling Team has spent countless hours perfecting their routines.

“Everyone wants it, so that really like helps us get to where we’ve gotten,” said Lindsay Pitts, 16, of Bucksport.

“It’s a lot of endurance, there’s a lot of sweat in this gym,” said Andrea Fletcher, coach and director of the Central Maine Twirling Corps. Read More
